In 2014 around 3,469 suicides occurred in Philippines, 41 less than in 2013. In 2014, on average 10 Philippines committed suicide every day.

Philippines reported 3.49 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.71 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 3,469 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 2,607 were men suicides and 862 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.08 per 100,000 men and for women 1.72 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Philippines. However, in Philippines in 2014 there were there were 9,756 homicides, and therefore, number of deaths by murder is far greater than people to take their own lives. There were 2.8 homicides per suicide.
