Peru has a low suicide rate

In 2004 around 218 suicides occurred in Peru, 17 less than in 2003.

Peru reported 0.8 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 218 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 158 were men suicides and 60 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.1 per 100,000 men and for women 0.4 per 100,000 female.
