Suicides fell in Oman

By 2004, suicides in Oman increased by 4 people to at 103 suicides

In Oman there were 4.01 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 103 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 90 were men suicides and 13 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.39 per 100,000 men and for women 1.25 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Oman suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 42 homicides in Oman, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
