In Norway there were 11 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.69 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 502 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 374 were men suicides and 128 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.5 per 100,000 men and for women 5.6 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Norway suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 51 homicides in Norway, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 9.8 suicides.
