There are 10 suicides per day in North Korea

In 2002 around 3,527 suicides occurred in North Korea, 327 less than in 2001. In 2002, on average 10 North Koreans committed suicide every day.

North Korea reported 14.92 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 3,527 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 1,822 were men suicides and 1,705 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.81 per 100,000 men and for women 14.07 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
