In 2015 occurred 18,095 suicides in Nigeria. This year, 321 more people committed suicide than in 2014. In 2015, on average 50 Nigerians committed suicide every day.

Nigeria had 9.49 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.47 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 18,095 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 12,618 were men suicides and 5,477 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 13.12 per 100,000 men and for women 5.79 per 100,000 female.
