Of the 2,004 recorded suicide cases in 2017, 1,377 were men suicides and 627 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.47 per 100,000 men and for women 7.14 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Netherlands suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death.
