Of the 2,341 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 1,687 were men suicides and 654 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.88 per 100,000 men and for women 4.69 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Mozambique suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 849 homicides in Mozambique, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.8 suicides.
