Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate

In 2014 around 5,030 suicides occurred in Kazakhstan, 328 less than in 2013. In 2014, on average 14 Kazakhs committed suicide every day.

Kazakhstan reported 28.88 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.71 suicides per 100,000 people.

Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 5,030 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 4,148 were men suicides and 883 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 50.22 per 100,000 men and for women 9.78 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 904 homicides in Kazakhstan, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.6 suicides.
