Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate

By 2003, suicides in Kazakhstan increased by 256 people to at 5,869 suicides In 2003, on average 16 Kazakhs committed suicide every day.

In Kazakhstan there were 39.25 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10.69 suicides per 100,000 people.

Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 5,869 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 4,905 were men suicides and 963 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 69.2 per 100,000 men and for women 12.32 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,991 homicides in Kazakhstan, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.9 suicides.
