In 1977 occurred 151 suicides in Ireland. This year, 32 fewer people committed suicide than in 1976.

Of the 151 recorded suicide cases in 1977, 98 were men suicides and 53 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 5.9 per 100,000 men and for women 3.2 per 100,000 female.
