In 1975 around 148 suicides occurred in Ireland, 30 more than in 1974.
Ireland reported 4.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 12.15 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Ireland has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 148 recorded suicide cases in 1975, 104 were men suicides and 44 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.5 per 100,000 men and for women 2.8 per 100,000 female.
