Number of suicides falls in Iceland

In 1962 occurred 17 suicides in Iceland. This year, 2 fewer people committed suicide than in 1961.

Iceland had 9.3 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.28 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 17 recorded suicide cases in 1962, 13 were men suicides and 4 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.1 per 100,000 men and for women 4.4 per 100,000 female.
