There are 31 suicides per day in Germany

In 2002 around 11,147 suicides occurred in Germany, as occurred in 2001. In 2002, on average 31 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany reported 13.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 11,147 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 8,098 were men suicides and 3,049 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.1 per 100,000 men and for women 7.2 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,172 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 9.5 suicides.
