There are 30 suicides per day in Germany

In 2000 occurred 11,065 suicides in Germany. This year, 92 fewer people committed suicide than in 1999. In 2000, on average 30 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany had 13.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.98 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 11,065 recorded suicide cases in 2000, 8,131 were men suicides and 2,934 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.3 per 100,000 men and for women 7 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,364 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 8.1 suicides.
