Of the 2,026 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 1,339 were men suicides and 687 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 3.41 per 100,000 men and for women 1.8 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Egypt suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 322 homicides in Egypt, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 6.3 suicides.
