In Cuba there were 13.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.71 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,519 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 1,195 were men suicides and 323 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.16 per 100,000 men and for women 5.69 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cuba suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 600 homicides in Cuba, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
