By 1963, suicides in Chile increased by 239 people to at 290 suicides

In Chile there were 3.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.22 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Chile has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 290 recorded suicide cases in 1963, 259 were men suicides and 31 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 6.4 per 100,000 men and for women 0.7 per 100,000 female.
