Since June 2015, the national minimum wage in Türkiye remained fixed at €436.3 per month, that is 5,236 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Turkish liras, which is the official currency in Türkiye, we can see that, this year, it was 1,273.5 Turkish liras and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 72 Turkish liras per month from the previous year, 5.99%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2015 which was 8.2%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Türkiye is in 32 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 112 of the list.
