The minimum wage goes up in Japan

In 2015, the national minimum wage in Japan remained fixed at €936.3 per month, that is 11,236 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Japanese yen, which is the official currency in Japan, we can see that, this year, it was 135,980 Japanese yen and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 2,860 Japanese yen per month from the previous year, 2.15%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2014 which was 2.4%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Japan is in 16 nd place of the 112 of the list.
