The minimum wage goes up in El Salvador

In 2013, the national minimum wage in El Salvador remained fixed at €149.8 per month, that is 1,798 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in United States dollars, which is the official currency in El Salvador, we can see that, this year, it was 197.6 United States dollars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 7.6 United States dollars per month from the previous year, 4%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2012 which was 0.8%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
