Since December 2020, the national minimum wage in Argentina remained fixed at €211.8 per month, that is 2,542 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Argentinian pesos, which is the official currency in Argentina, we can see that, this year, it was 20,587.5 Argentinian pesos and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 1,687.5 Argentinian pesos per month from the previous year, 8.93%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2020 which was 53.8%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Argentina is in 74 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 118 of the list.
