Since August 2015, the national minimum wage in Argentina remained fixed at €553.9 per month, that is 6,647 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Argentinian pesos, which is the official currency in Argentina, we can see that, this year, it was 5,588 Argentinian pesos and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 872 Argentinian pesos per month from the previous year, 18.49%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2015 which was 23.9%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
