In 2017 Rwanda public debt was 3,385 million euros3,823 million dollars, has increased 513645 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 41.32% of Rwanda GDP, a 4.76 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 36.56% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Rwanda debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 656 million euros 899 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 22.11%.
According to the last data point published, Rwanda per capita debt in 2017 was 277 euros313 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 241 euros 266 dollars, afterwards rising by 36 euros47 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 71 euros98 dollars .
The position of Rwanda, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 76 in the list of debt to GDP and 19 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
