In 2019 Rwanda public debt was 4,608 million euros5,159 million dollars, has increased 941829 million since 2018.
This amount means that the debt in 2019 reached 50.97% of Rwanda GDP, a 5.98 percentage point rise from 2018, when it was 44.99% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Rwanda debt. It has risen since 2009 in global debt terms, when it was 753 million euros 1,050 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 18.43%.
According to the last data point published, Rwanda per capita debt in 2019 was 365 euros409 dollars per inhabitant. In 2018 it was 298 euros 352 dollars, afterwards rising by 67 euros57 dollars, and if we again check 2009 we can see that then the debt per person was 78 euros108 dollars .
The position of Rwanda, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2019 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 89 in the list of debt to GDP and 24 in debt per capita, out of the 189 we publish.
