In 2016 Liberia public debt was 854 million euros 945 million dollars, has increased 129140 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 44.99% of Liberia GDP, a 5.48 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 39.51% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Liberia debt. It has gone down since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 3,578 million euros 4,493 million dollars , and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 593.52%.
According to the last data point published, Liberia per capita debt in 2016 was 185 euros205 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 161 euros 179 dollars, afterwards rising by 24 euros26 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,057 euros1,327 dollars .
The position of Liberia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 87 in the list of debt to GDP and 11 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
