In 2018 Liberia public debt was 1,089 million euros1,286 million dollars, has increased 103173 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 39.42% of Liberia GDP, a 5.52 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 33.9% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Liberia debt. It has gone down since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 2,511 million euros 3,694 million dollars , and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 218.82%.
According to the last data point published, Liberia per capita debt in 2018 was 226 euros267 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 210 euros 237 dollars, afterwards rising by 16 euros30 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 745 euros1,096 dollars .
The position of Liberia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 64 in the list of debt to GDP and 11 in debt per capita, out of the 188 we publish.
