In 2017 Liberia public debt was 993 million euros 1,122 million dollars, has increased 154194 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 34.12% of Liberia GDP, a 5.82 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 28.3% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Liberia debt. It has gone down since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 3,368 million euros 4,616 million dollars , and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 314.73%.
According to the last data point published, Liberia per capita debt in 2017 was 211 euros239 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 183 euros 202 dollars, afterwards rising by 28 euros37 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,042 euros1,429 dollars .
The position of Liberia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 44 in the list of debt to GDP and 12 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
