National debt fell in Greece

In 2012 Greece public debt was 305,085 million euros392,627 million dollars, has decreased 51,150127,997 million since 2011.

This amount means that the debt in 2012 reached 162% of Greece GDP, a 13.2 percentage point fall from 2011, when it was 175.2% of GDP.

If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Greece debt. It has risen since 2002 in global debt terms, when it was 171,410 million euros 161,966 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 104.9%.

According to the last data point published, Greece per capita debt in 2012 was 27,726 euros35,682 dollars per inhabitant. In 2011 it was 32,133 euros 46,961 dollars, afterwards dropping by 4,407 euros 11,279dollars, and if we again check 2002 we can see that then the debt per person was 15,703 euros14,838 dollars .

The position of Greece, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2012 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 190 in the list of debt to GDP and 180 in debt per capita, out of the 191 we publish.
