ELECTRICITY PRICES - Germany December of 2019

The price of electricity in Germany, among the highest.

The average price of electricity in Germany, in December of 2019, has been 0.2878€ per kilowatt hour. Electricity price has decreased € 0.021 kWh, 6.8% since the last semester. Meanwhile, the average price of electricity without taxes in Germany in that period was € 0.1321 per kilowatt hour, €10.32% less than in the previous period, in which the price of electricity without taxes was €0.1473kWh.

In the last twelve months the price of electricity in Germany has fallen by 4.14%.

From 2007 until now, the highest price of electricity in Germany has been € 0.3088 kWh, in June of 2019, while in June of 2007, electricity price was € 0.2025 kWh, its minimum price in this period.

Germany is the second European country with the most expensive electricity.

Finally, if we compare the price of electricity with taxes and without taxes, we see that, in the last period, households paid € 0.1557 of taxes for each kilowatt hour, which means that 54.1% of what households pay for the electricity are taxes.
