CO2 emissions Trinidad and Tobago 2016

Trinidad and Tobago reduced CO2 emissions

In 2016, CO2 emissions in Trinidad and Tobago have fallen 3.682 megatons, 10.36% compared to 2015.

CO2 emissions in 2016 were 31.852 megatons, making Trinidad and Tobago is the 113th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.

In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Trinidad and Tobago, have decreased in 2016, in which they have been 23.34 tons per inhabitant.

Trinidad and Tobago belongs to the group of countries that emit the most CO2 per inhabitant.

Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Trinidad and Tobago, has emitted 0.78 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, a lower figure than in 2015. Trinidad and Tobago is one of the least efficient countries in environmental terms, as it is among the countries that send the most CO2 into the atmosphere for every $ 1,000 of GDP.

In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have decreased since 2006, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.

Total carbon dioxide emissions have also decreased compared to 2011, although per capita emissions have increased in this period.
