In Timor-Leste, CO2 emissions during 2018 have fallen 0.015 megatons, 2.15% compared to 2017.
CO2 emissions in 2018 were 0.683 megatons, making Timor-Leste is in the group of low-polluting countries, within the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Timor-Leste, have decreased in 2018, in which they have been 0.52 tons per inhabitant.
Finally, it is interesting to observe the behavior f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Timor-Leste, has emitted 0.18 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, the same as in 2017.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have doubled since 2008, as have per capita emissions and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
However, in the last five years, total emissions have decreased in Timor-Leste, as have emissions per capita, then the situation is improving.
