By 2014, suicides in Uganda increased by 61 people to at 2,694 suicides In 2014, on average 7 Ugandans committed suicide every day.

In Uganda there were 7.81 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.71 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 2,694 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 1,859 were men suicides and 835 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.38 per 100,000 men and for women 4.53 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Uganda. However, in Uganda in 2014 there were there were 4,473 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.7 homicides per suicide.
