Suicides fell in Timor-Leste

By 2004, suicides in Timor-Leste increased by 10 people to at 84 suicides

In Timor-Leste there were 8.68 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 84 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 56 were men suicides and 28 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.57 per 100,000 men and for women 6.13 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Timor-Leste suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 23 homicides in Timor-Leste, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.7 suicides.
