There are 23 suicides per day in Thailand

In 2004 around 8,444 suicides occurred in Thailand, 482 more than in 2003. In 2004, on average 23 Thai committed suicide every day.

Thailand reported 12.99 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.53 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 8,444 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 5,696 were men suicides and 2,749 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.72 per 100,000 men and for women 8.29 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 4,273 homicides in Thailand, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2 suicides.
