Syria has a low suicide rate

By 2002, suicides in Syria increased by 12 people to at 341 suicides

In Syria there were 1.96 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.78 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Syria has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 341 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 282 were men suicides and 59 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 3.25 per 100,000 men and for women 0.7 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Syria. However, in Syria in 2002 there were there were 368 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.1 homicides per suicide.
