Switzerland has a very high suicide rate

In 1975 around 1,429 suicides occurred in Switzerland, 120 more than in 1974. In 1975, on average 4 Swiss committed suicide every day.

Switzerland reported 22.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 12.15 suicides per 100,000 people.

Switzerland has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,429 recorded suicide cases in 1975, 1,008 were men suicides and 421 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 32.6 per 100,000 men and for women 13 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
