Sweden has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 1,703 recorded suicide cases in 1979, 1,163 were men suicides and 540 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 28.3 per 100,000 men and for women 12.9 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
