Sweden has a very high suicide rate

In 1975 around 1,590 suicides occurred in Sweden, 47 less than in 1974. In 1975, on average 4 Swedes committed suicide every day.

Sweden reported 19.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 12.15 suicides per 100,000 people.

Sweden has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,590 recorded suicide cases in 1975, 1,130 were men suicides and 460 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 27.7 per 100,000 men and for women 11.2 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
