Peru has a low suicide rate

In 2015 occurred 264 suicides in Peru. This year, 138 fewer people committed suicide than in 2014.

Peru had 0.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 264 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 169 were men suicides and 95 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.1 per 100,000 men and for women 0.6 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Peru. However, in Peru in 2015 there were there were 2,247 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 8.5 homicides per suicide.
