Peru has a low suicide rate

In 2003 occurred 235 suicides in Peru. This year, 17 fewer people committed suicide than in 2002.

Peru had 0.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 235 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 172 were men suicides and 63 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.2 per 100,000 men and for women 0.5 per 100,000 female.
