Peru has a low suicide rate

In 2000 around 228 suicides occurred in Peru, 13 less than in 1999.

Peru reported 0.9 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.98 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Peru has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 228 recorded suicide cases in 2000, 148 were men suicides and 80 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 1.1 per 100,000 men and for women 0.6 per 100,000 female.
