In Pakistan there were 2.29 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.69 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 3,469 recorded suicide cases in 2003, 1,998 were men suicides and 1,471 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 2.32 per 100,000 men and for women 1.82 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Pakistan. However, in Pakistan in 2003 there were there were 9,346 homicides, and therefore, number of deaths by murder is far greater than people to take their own lives. There were 2.7 homicides per suicide.
