Latvia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 844 recorded suicide cases in 1981, 663 were men suicides and 181 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 57.1 per 100,000 men and for women 13.3 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
