Suicides decreased in Iceland

In 1980 around 24 suicides occurred in Iceland, 6 less than in 1979.

Iceland reported 10.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 14.29 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 24 recorded suicide cases in 1980, 14 were men suicides and 10 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.2 per 100,000 men and for women 8.8 per 100,000 female.
