Of the 9,084 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 6,817 were men suicides and 2,267 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.18 per 100,000 men and for women 6.62 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In France suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 792 homicides in France, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 11.5 suicides.
