Egypt - Intentional self-harm

In 2014 occurred 2,327 suicides in Egypt. This year, 85 more people committed suicide than in 2013. In 2014, on average 6 Egyptians committed suicide every day.

Egypt had 2.68 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.71 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Egypt. However, in Egypt in 2014 there were there were 2,890 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.2 homicides per suicide.
