Cambodia - Intentional self-harm

In 2014 occurred 1,876 suicides in Cambodia. This year, 18 more people committed suicide than in 2013. In 2014, on average 5 Cambodians committed suicide every day.

Cambodia had 12.61 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.71 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,876 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 1,210 were men suicides and 666 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.08 per 100,000 men and for women 8.67 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cambodia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 268 homicides in Cambodia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 7 suicides.
