In Cambodia there were 12.86 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.53 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,692 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 1,067 were men suicides and 624 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.64 per 100,000 men and for women 9.46 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cambodia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 511 homicides in Cambodia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.3 suicides.
