Of the 10,652 recorded suicide cases in 2014, 8,419 were men suicides and 2,233 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.5 per 100,000 men and for women 2.2 per 100,000 female.
Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Brazil. However, in Brazil in 2014 there were there were 59,733 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 5.6 homicides per suicide.
