Suicides increase in Botswana

In 2002 occurred 216 suicides in Botswana. This year, 7 more people committed suicide than in 2001.

Botswana had 12.66 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.78 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 216 recorded suicide cases in 2002, 165 were men suicides and 51 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.89 per 100,000 men and for women 5.52 per 100,000 female.
