Bosnia and Herzegovina - Intentional self-harm

In 2004 occurred 295 suicides in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year, 22 fewer people committed suicide than in 2003.

Bosnia and Herzegovina had 7.67 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 295 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 231 were men suicides and 63 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.29 per 100,000 men and for women 3.23 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Bosnia and Herzegovina suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 68 homicides in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.3 suicides.
